Uther the Lightbringer

Uther is the Silver Hand’s name that people know when they know no other. He was a warrior who came to the Light. Turalyon was a priest Faol armed. They were consecrated in the same first five, with Saidan Dathrohan, Tirion Fordring, and Gavinrad the Dire, and then the war gave them different sizes of fame.

Uther’s death belongs to Arthas and the Third War, years when Turalyon was already a name on a memorial. They do not share a late scene. What they share is the founding: Faol’s decision that Lordaeron needed knights of the Light, and the accident that one of those knights would be remembered as the Lightbringer while another would be remembered, much later, as the man who came home from a thousand-year war.

There is no portrait of Uther in the pictures this site was given. The courtyard is the order they founded, with Turalyon still standing in it a thousand years later. Uther is the standard the others are measured against. Turalyon’s measure was never that he outshone him. It was that Lothar preferred him as a second.
