Anduin Lothar

Lothar was the lion of Azeroth, Supreme Commander, and the man who looked at Faol’s youngest paladin and made him second. The choice is half of Turalyon’s life. Everything called “of Lothar” afterward — the Sons, the sword, the standard, the refusal to let the Alliance come apart on that slope — is an answer to one death.

Doomhammer struck Lothar down at the siege of Blackrock Spire. Turalyon lifted the broken sword and finished the battle Lothar could not. He spent the rest of the war, and a good part of the peace, convinced the death was a watch he had failed. Stormwind’s rebuilding and Varian’s early reign are the practical form of that guilt.

Metzen’s drawing is Lothar’s stone, and the man who could not stop kneeling at it. The Great Royal Sword stays in the prose. We do not have the object.

Turalyon in a red cloak stands above a crowd of armored leaders in a banner-hung hall, fist raised, mouth open in a speech.
