Order
The Knights of the Silver Hand

Faol founded the order because the Horde had already proved that a kingdom’s ordinary knights were not enough. The first five were Uther the Lightbringer, Saidan Dathrohan, Tirion Fordring, Gavinrad the Dire, and Turalyon. Four of them were warriors learning a faith. He was a priest learning a war.
His tie to the order is the tie that never quite breaks, even after newer paladins and newer schisms. He is “Sir” and a knight of the Silver Hand in the titles he still carries. He is also, later, more than the order: High Exarch of another army, Lord Commander of the Alliance, regent of a kingdom. The Silver Hand is the oath underneath those offices.
Uther became the order’s legend. Tirion became its conscience in a later war. Turalyon became the one who left the world and came back still carrying the same knighting. When Midnight needs a host of paladins at the Sunwell, the Vanguard of the Light is that oath in the field again, with him at the front of it.
